A View from the Kiosk

ATTENTION. A view will be on hiatus the next two Saturdays.

Here's my view from the Kiosk for Saturday, February 3rd.

Super slow day. It was cold and just not a great park day. I was so bored, I put on music in the kiosk, something I rarely do. Helped a total of 50 people and only gave out 25 maps, but there were a few bright moments......

“How do we get Downtown?”

from experience, I know that this question is usually asking for directions to Times Square. For those of you who don’t know, Times Square is “downtown, for the majority of park visitors.

I asked him refining questions to determine which subway and really which destination. At this point, his wife interjected....

“We really don’t want to go downtown, we want an Italian Restaurant”
