Here’s my View from the Kiosk for Saturday the 9th of March

I was surprised at what a nice day it was in the kiosk. Still snow on the ground, but the sun was shining bright and the temps were okay. I felt pretty good because I got a new park sweatshirt in size large rather than x-large and the tight fit really made me a super hunk in the kiosk. There was a wedding in Wagner Cove during my shift, and that is always fun to watch.
It was a pretty busy day in the kiosk. During my two-hour shift, I handed out about 100 maps and helped over 200 people.
#1 Best Question? “Where is a good bar for us to go day drinking?”
#1 Worst Interaction? Not the worst, but just always shocking to me how many French speakers can’t communicate in very basic English, or even try. It seemed that I insulted several visitors today by asking if they needed my help. Visitors who speak other languages interact very differently. Not sure if these are French Canadians or people from France.
#1 Best Interaction? A nice lady with a cute little dog visited the kiosk. I gave her a regular map, a bike map, a dog park map and a special access map. She was so happy. New in the neighborhood and really needed to learn all about the park and my fantastic map selection.
#2 Best Question? “How do we get to Bloomingdales?”
Visitors? Nobody. Now that the weather is about to get gorgeous, this better change.
#1 most asked question other than “where is Strawberry Fields?’ “Where is Wagner Cove?”
Most Popular Language? All French today
***New Topic*** Most asked about Movie this shift? Home Alone 2. One interesting tidbit, we have a pamphlet in the kiosk that lists hundreds of movies and where in the park they were filmed.
